    Alpha Natural Resources announced July 31 that 11 affiliated coal mines and other facilities in West Virginia could be idled by mid-October, potentially causing 1,100 to be laid off.

Two Ashland, Kentucky men are now behind bars after state police say they are connected to the death of a missing man.

Aaron W. Gallion, 35, and Carlton T. Gallman, 36, are now facing charges in the death of 29-year-old Christopher M. Frazier of Westwood.

Fraizer was reported missing April 8.  Eleven days later police found his remains near the roadway on Happy Ridge in Greenup County.

Detectives received information the murder happened two weeks prior to Fraizer being reported missing. Detectives say they were told it happened at 807 Rockgate Road, just outside of Bellefonte.

Gallman attempted to get away by driving into Ohio, but crashed his car shortly after Ohio authorities joined the pursuit.  Officers arrested Gallman after the crash.

Gallman is charged with murder and tampering with evidence and is currently in the Lawrence County Jail.

Gallion was arrested at his home.  He is charged with tampering with evidence and is currently in the Boyd County Detention Center.
