A man wanted in connection with a Wheelersburg bank robbery has been arrested in Texas.

According to Scioto County Sheriff Marty Donini, detectives have been investigating leads on the robbery of Charter One Bank in Wheelersburg that happened on April 5.

The suspect was identified as Elvis P. Kerns, 34, of Wheelersburg.

Sheriff Donini says detectives received information that the suspect might be hiding in Texas and were able to contact the Seguin, Texas Police Department today and relay the information.

Seguin Police responded to 405 Harper in Seguin around 5 p.m. Wednesday and made a forceful entry into the residence were the suspect was arrested.

Elvis Kerns is being held without bond and will be extradited back to Ohio on charges of Aggravated Robbery and Parole Violation.

Sheriff Donini says more charges will be presented to the Scioto County Grand Jury at a later date.
