Military Warriors Support Foundation will present a home May 1 to a combat-wounded West Virginian.

The MWSF has been awarding mortgage-free homes since 2010 to families that have severe or unique circumstances due to injuries received in combat. The organization has donated more than 300 homes in 35 states, with a goal of 300 additional homes in 2013.

Homes are fully renovated and customized for injuries, typically valuing between $150,000 and $250,000. Wounded hero families also receive three years of family and financial mentoring to ensure they have the skills necessary to be happy and successful home owners.

The May 1 event includes honorary guests Wayne and Deby Kyle, the parents of Chris Kyle, United States Navy SEAL best known as the most lethal sniper in American military history and author of New York Times bestseller "American Sniper."  The Kyles will present a mortgage-free home to a highly decorated, combat-wounded West Virginian during this event.

Scheduled to attend are LTG Leroy Sisco, USA (Ret.) and other dignitaries to update attendees.

The event takes place at 11 a.m. on May 1 at Haddad Riverfront Park in Charleston.
