The West Virginia State University softball team saw its 15 game win streak broken by Fairmont State 4-1 in Saturday's first championship game.

That forced a winner-take-all second game.
No problem, the Yellow Jackets simply started a new streak with a 3-1 victory to pick up the WVIAC Tournament crown and automatic bid into next week's NCAA Atlantic Regional.
A trio of talented freshmen led the way as Dee Dee Loftis drove in two runs with a walk and ground out, Sydney Kaplan knocked in the game winner, and Anna Eggleston did not allow an earned run or a walk in pitching all seven innings.

Eggleston was the pitcher of record in three of the four WVSU wins in the tournament.
