The plaza behind the Chase Bank building in Charleston will have a new name.

Nightingale Properties, which owns the Chase building in Charleston and the plaza behind it, recently announced the decision to name the plaza the "Steptoe & Johnson Plaza."

"We are pleased to have the plaza bear our name as we celebrate the firm's 100th year," Bryan Cokeley, the firm's Charleston managing member, said in the firm's news release  "We have had a presence in downtown Charleston since 1928. This has been a good place for us and has played a huge part in our history."

Andrew Santee, property manager of Nightingale Properties considers the firm committed to the state.

"Naming the plaza after the firm reflects their investment in the building and the community over many years," Santee said in the release. "We look forward to working with them as they begin their next 100 years."
