Kentucky man charged with the murder of a two-month-old

Boyd County Sheriff's deputies and EMS responded on May 4 to a report of an unresponsive female infant in Westwood, Kentucky.

The infant was taken to King's Daughter's Medial Center where she was pronounced deceased by Boyd County Deputy Coroner Ralph Beadle.

On May 5, an autopsy revealed that the infant had died from blunt force trauma.

Detective Ben Cramer responded and began an investigation, which led to the discovery that the boyfriend of the infant's mother had struck the infant in the head.

Kentucky State Police arrested Thompson and lodged him in the Boyd County Detention Center.

Thompson is facing murder charges.

The case is still under investigation.
