PORTSMOUTH, Oh. -

The family of missing mother, Megan Lancaster, wants more boots on the ground, and more minds on the case.

The 25-year-old has been missing since April 3.

"We need search dogs. We need helicopters," says Megan's sister-in-law, Kadie Lancaster. "We need stuff to try, because Scioto County is very large."

Detectives tell 13 News they cannot do large-scale searches on a whim; they need a viable tip.

"Tips come from all sorts: from somebody questionable who might really know something to something being found," says Joanna Krohn of SOLACE Ohio, an organization that helps families of drug addicts form support groups. " What's a legitimate tip?"

In Gallia County, the search is ongoing for 68-year-old Sharon Yoczik.

Ms. Yoczik has been missing since March 22.

Portsmouth Police say they have not contacted any outside agencies to help them search, because they haven't gotten a good lead as to where Megan Lancaster might be.

Authorities in Gallia County say once Sharon Yoczik went missing, they contacted outside agencies immediately, with the purpose of getting leads early in the investigation.

The Gallia County Sheriff says civilians and professionals have conducted several searches, using search dogs, boats, planes, and even searched the hillside on horseback.

Much of this help came from outside agencies and volunteers.

Meanwhile in Portsmouth, the lifelong friend of Megan Lancaster, Christie Fannin, wishes more could be done.

"We don't have that here, in this town. I don't see it. And it's sad. She is someone's child. -- Someone's mother."

Relatives of Megan say they have received specific tips, and there have been search parties.

Police have not been involved in those search parties.
