A roof collapsed in Gallipolis, Ohio during the fast-moving storms that blew through the region on Friday afternoon.

It happened on Court Street between 2nd and 3rd Avenue. The roof on the Oscar's restaurant, which had been turned into two apartments and the Gallia County Genealogical Society office, blew off.

No one was injured, but debris scattered and at least one car was damaged when a portion of the roof fell on it. The two apartments were evacuated. The owner of the building is bringing in an inspector.

Officials said that two other buildings were damaged when the roof peeled back and a portion of a bank roof blew off.

Portions of Court Street and Third Avenue were closed. People were asked to avoid the area.
