West Virginia's First Lady visited a local elementary school on Tuesday morning.

Students and staff at Martha Elementary School in Barboursville welcomed First Lady Joanne Jaeger Tomblin.

Mrs. Tomblin spoke before a crowd of students about her position as president of Southern West Virginia Community and Technical College and her official duties as First Lady.

Students seemed to enjoy the experience. "I thought meeting the First Lady was cool because I never thought I would meet the First Lady," said Gracie Napier, a student at Martha Elementary School.

After her remarks, First Lady Tomblin read a children's book by a West Virginia author. Then held a question and answer session with the students and took pictures with the first and second grade students.
