Charleston police release victim's identity in weekend shooting; suspect on the loose

UPDATE:  

Charleston police have released the name of the person shot over the weekend.  Police said Danny Dickerson, 21, of Charleston, was shot in the leg just after midnight on Sunday.

Dickerson is in stable condition.

Police found crack cocaine on him and believe the shooting might have been drug related, they said.

Charleston police are still looking for the person who opened fire near the intersection of Glenwood Avenue and Grant Street in Charleston.

It happened just after midnight on Sunday.

The victim was shot in the upper leg and taken to Charleston Area Medical Center for treatment.

He is expected to survive.

Neighbors told police they heard at least seven shots fired in the area.

Police found crack cocaine on the victim, they said.  They are looking into whether or not drugs played a role in the shooting.
