Detroit men facing heroin charges in Huntington, WV

Two Detroit men are facing charges after officers with the Huntington Police Department say they were selling heroin. 

According to court documents, Kenneth Baxter, 23, of 14171 Whitcomb St., Detroit, Mich., and Warren Howard, Jr., 22, of 15032 Whitcomb St., Detroit, Mich., are both facing charges of possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance. 

Police say agents with the Huntington Violent Crimes Drug Task Force and Special Investigations Unit used a confidential informant to buy heroin from Baxter and Howard on two separate occasions. 

The confidential buy and arrest of Howard happened Monday, May 20. The confidential buy and arrest of Baxter happened January 2 of this year. 

The two were in Cabell County Magistrate Court Monday. Baxter asked for a preliminary hearing. Howard said his attorney would notify the court if he wanted a preliminary hearing. 

Baxter and Howard were taken to the Western Regional Jail. Bail was set at $100,000 for each man. They are facing up to 15 years in prison.
