Late night shooter considered armed and dangerous by deputies

A man is on the run and considered armed and dangerous according to authorities with the Lawrence County Sheriff's Office. 

Timothy E. Powell, 42, of South Point is wanted in connection to a late night shooting on County Road 407.  According to a news release issued Friday, deputies say Powell shot several rounds in a home at 11 p.m. Thursday. While there were people in the home, no one was hit by any of Powell's shots. During the course of the investigation, authorities say they were told Powell threatened and shot at other family members that day. 

Investigators say Powell left the scene on a red Honda Shadow motorcycle with Ohio license plate number 51VSD. 

Powell is a white male, 145 pounds, 5 feet, 7 inches tall and has blonde hair and blue eyes. The news release goes on to state "It is believed that Timothy Powell has more than one firearm and should be considered armed and dangerous."

Warrants for Powell's arrest were obtained Friday by the Lawrence County Prosecutor's Office. Authorities are asking anyone with information about Powell's whereabouts to call the Lawrence County Sheriff's Office at 740-532-3525. 



Deputies are searching for a man they said opened fire outside of a house on County Road 407 in South Point late Thursday night.

They said the man fired multiple shots.

The Lawrence County Sheriff's Department tells 13 News no one was injured in the incident.

Deputies are combing the surrounding area trying to find the man.
