Rick Ross has joined Cabell Huntington Hospital as director of laboratory services.

Ross comes to Cabell Huntington from Arizona, where he most recently was administrative director of pathology and laboratory medicine at Phoenix Children's Hospital.

In his new role, he oversees the laboratory services department that includes more than 100 technologists, phlebotomists and support personnel. In 2012, more than 1.3 million laboratory procedures were performed at Cabell Huntington.

Cabell Huntington opened in 1956. A teaching hospital affiliated with Marshall University Schools of Medicine and Nursing, the 303-bed academic medical center cares for patients from more than 29 counties in West Virginia, eastern Kentucky and southern Ohio.
