Hedgesville scored four runs in the fourth inning and that's all the Eagles needed on Saturday to win the Class AAA state championship over Cabell Midland, 4-2.

Cabell Midland scored two quick runs in the first inning.

Unfortunately, those were the only runs of the game for the Knights.

Hedgesville's four-run fourth inning proved to be the difference.

Cabell Midland got runners at first and second in the top of the seventh with two outs thanks to an error by a Hedgesville out fielder that kept the inning alive.

But the Knights couldn't bring any of those runners home and their season came to an end.
