UPDATE: Lanes reopen after deadly crash on I-77 in Jackson County, WV

UPDATE:

13NEWS has learned the name of the victim that died in Wednesday night's fatal crash on I-77.

Ellen Bailey, 49, of Ravenswood died after the vehicle she was driving slammed into the back of a tractor trailer that was broke down near the Goldtown exit.

 

UPDATE:

The West Virginia Department of Transportation confirmed that both north lanes of Interstate 77 at the Goldtown exit in Jackson County, WV reopened just before 10:30 p.m.

An emergency worker at the scene has confirmed that a woman died in tonight's crash on I-77 in Jackson County, WV.

The West Virginia State Police is investigating.  Troopers said that the crash involved a tractor trailer and a passenger car.

Traffic is being diverted off I-77 by way of Exit 116 at Haines Branch.

Emergency crews were called to the scene of a crash on Interstate 77 in Jackson County, WV, on Wednesday night.

Dispatchers said the call came in just before 9 p.m.

The accident forced officials to close both north lanes near the Goldtown exit.  No other information was immediately available.
