    Elizabeth Sweeney Athol, a 1982 Bethany College graduate and Pittsburgh attorney, has been selected Alumna of the Year.

Shepherd University has named Matthew Huber as its new director of admissions. 

Huber began his duties June 6. He is responsible for assisting in the development of admissions marketing and communication strategies. Huber, who is a member of the enrollment management senior leadership team, reports to the vice president for enrollment management. 

As director of admissions, Huber will develop a comprehensive student recruitment plan for the university. 

Before joining the staff at Shepherd, Huber was associate director of freshman admissions at Upper Iowa University in Fayette. He has also served as assistant director of admissions at Doane College in Crete, Neb. 

Huber is a graduate of the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, earning a master's in educational administration with an emphasis on higher education administration. He received a bachelor of music education degree from the University of Missouri-St. Louis.
