BARBOURSVILLE -

Two people are safe after crashing their car into a house and a gas meter Tuesday morning.

The two were traveling along Fudges Creek in Barboursville when they went off the road, barely missing a utility pole, then hitting a gas meter and into the porch of a home.

No one was home at the time of the crash. Deputies with the Cabell County Sheriff's Department tell 13News the driver was going too fast for the rainy road and weather conditions.

Crews with the gas company shut off the gas. Fudges Creek was closed for a short period of time.
