A Fayetteville native with 30 years of experience as a trial attorney will be sworn in today as a federal magistrate judge.

Dwane Tinsley, who most recently worked as a partner for Hendrickson & Long PLLC, was appointed to an eight-year term that started on April 8.

His investiture ceremony will take place at 2 p.m. on the seventh floor of the federal courthouse in Charleston.

Tinsley received his bachelor's in 1975 from Davis & Elkins, his masters' at Howard University and his law degree from West Virginia University College of Law.

Upon graduation, Tinsley received a job back in his hometown as an assistant prosecuting attorney. He later ended up working as an assistant federal prosecutor for the southern district and in 1991, he joined the law firm Kay, Casto, Chaney, Love & Wise.
