According to a release from the Logan County Sheriff's Office, a missing man was reported in the Mitchell Heights area of Logan County about 3 p.m. Friday.

A family member advised officers that he was last seen walking towards the Guyandotte River.

The Logan County Sheriff's Department, Henslawson Fire Department, and LEASA Search and Rescue deployed members to search the Guyandotte River.

The release said authorities found a body that was later identified to be Richard Lee White, 66, of Logan around 8 p.m. Friday.

Deputies said White was the person who had been reported missing 5 hours earlier.

County Coroner Mike Casey arrived on scene and White's body was recovered from the river.

Deputies and the County Coroner say at this time that there appears to be no foul play involved.
