One female was taken to the hospital after a vehicle accident Sunday morning in Elkview in Kanawha County.

Dispatchers say it happened at 5053 Elk River Road.

According to police, the female was driving southbound when she lost control and hit a rock embankment.

Police say she had to be cut out of the vehicle by the Pinch Volunteer Fire Department.

She was taken to CAMC General Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The 5000 block of Elk River Road South was shut down, but has since re-opened.

The Kanawha County Sheriffs Office is investigating.
