Police investigating a fatal vehicle crash in Gallia County

The Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal vehicle crash between a motorcycle and a car that happened at 10:55 p.m. Saturday in Gallia County, Ohio.

According to police, a 2005 Suzuki motorcycle was traveling northbound on State Route 233, while a 2000 Dodge Neon was traveling southbound when they collided.

Police say both the driver and passenger of the motorcycle were ejected upon impact and the car over-turned after impact.

According to police, the driver of the motorcycle, 44-year old David R. McCain of Oak Hill, was pronounced dead at the scene by the Gallia County Coroner.

Police say the motorcycle passenger, 20-year old Wayland P. McCain of Oak Hill, was flown by Med-Flight to Cabell Huntington Hospital in Huntington, WV.

Police also say the driver of the car, 16-year old Michaela D. Hardin of Oak Hill, was transported to Holzer Medical Center in Gallipolis, Ohio.

The extent of their injuries are not yet known.

Police are investigating.
