HUNTINGTON -

A Huntington landlord is facing time behind bars for accepting drugs as monthly rent fees.

Jerry A. Lowe, 46, was sentenced to three years and 10 months on federal oxycodone charges according to U.S. Attorney Booth Goodwin.  A recent media release said Lowe pleaded guilty in March to distribution of oxycodone charges after his sold tablets last year in exchange for cash.

Lowe was found in possession of heroin during a traffic stop last June and the Huntington Violent Crimes and Task Force conducted an investigation.  Lowe sold the oxycodone pills for approximately two years and also purchased pills from another resident at his apartment complex.

Lowe was the landlord of two convicted felons and told police he typically received heroin and prescription painkillers as monthly rent from the couple.
