A Huntington couple is facing child abuse charges after leaving syringes near two toddlers.

Keith E. Wood, 28, and Lindsey A. Thacker, 28, are facing felony child abuse charges according to court documents.

Officers with the Huntington Police Department Special Investigations Unit and the Huntington Violent Crimes and Drug Task Force executed a search warrant at the home of Wood and Thacker in the 800 block of 11th Avenue June 20.  Officers say they found heroin and drug paraphernalia including several syringes appearing to be used to inject heroin or another drug.

Detectives say the youngest of the two toddlers was found locked in an upstairs bedroom without supervision.  Detectives say they had to cut a rope that kept the child's bedroom door tied shut from the outside and there was little or no ventilation or air-conditioning.

Thacker is also facing a felony possession with intent to deliver charge. She is currently in the Western Regional Jail on a $100,000 cash only bond.

Wood is also facing a felony charge of fraudulent schemes.  According to court documents, Wood sold vacation packages to customers he obtained via phone calls.  Later, Wood admitted to officers he never intended to send the customer the vacation package they paid for.

Wood is currently in the Western Regional Jail on a $100,000 cash only bond.
