Foot chase leads to a Huntington man's arrest

HUNTINGTON, WV -

An early morning burglary turned into a brief foot chase in Huntington. 

Carry Alexander Chapman, 24, of Huntington is charged with felony burglary, fleeing on foot, and obstructing police, according to court documents. 

Officers with the Huntington Police Department say Chapman destroyed a large amount of copper pipe in a home on Belford Avenue just before 6 a.m. Monday. When officers arrived, Chapman took off. 

When they caught up to him, police say he they had to forcibly handcuff him.  Chapman is currently in the Western Regional Jail on a $35,000 cash bond.  He faces up to 12 years in prison and up to a $1000 fine.
