University of Charleston to host free outdoor movie as part of Boy Scouts Jamboree

The University of Charleston Riverfront Lawn will transform into the yellow brick road on Saturday, July 13. UC is hosting a free showing of "Oz the Great and Powerful" beginning at 9 p.m.

The public is invited to bring blankets and lawn chairs to take in the film, which will be shown on the UC Riverfront Lawn closest to Eddie King Gym.

The University is hosting the movie night as part of the Charleston Convention & Visitors Bureau's "Gateway to the Jamboree" initiative. It's several coordinated activities around the city to welcome visitors attending the Boy Scouts of America National Scout Jamboree. A complete list of activities can be found here.
