False call turns into drug arrest in Logan County, WV

Police arrested one man after responding to a call that initially reported a shooting.

Kenneth Robinette, 53, of Baisden was arrested for possession with the intent to deliver crack cocaine.

Logan County Sheriff's deputies responded to a 911 call on June 30 after a woman called dispatch and told them her husband had been shot in Cora.

When deputies arrived, they found Geena Robinette at the Rich Old Gas Station.  Mrs. Robinette told police that her husband and Larry Bradford were in a house in Cora when she heard a gunshot.

Deputies went to the home and found Mr. Robinette and Bradford in the yard, neither man was shot.  During the investigation, deputies performed searches on the two men and found on Mr. Robinette a brown prescription bottle with several crack cocaine rocks in it.

Mr. Robinette also had $512 in cash on him.  Mr. Robinette was arrested and taken to the Southwestern Regional Jail and his bond is set at $25,000.
