Teen girl busted for heroin at local motel

HUNTINGTON, WV -

A 19-year-old girl is behind bars after officers say she was found with more than $1,500 worth of heroin. 

Officers with the Huntington Police Department say Taylor Dawn Kirby, of Huntington, is charged with felony possession with intent to deliver after she was found at the Coach's Inn motel on Washington Avenue July 6. 

According to the criminal complaint, officers found several baggies of a brown substance that tested positive for heroin. Officers also found $1,582 in cash and digital scales that had a razor and more brown powder on it. 

Kirby was taken to the Western Regional Jail.  Her bail was set at $40,000.  She is facing up to five years in prison.  

Kenneth Emell Baxter, 23, of Detroit, Mich., is also charged with felony possession with intent to deliver.  Officers say he was in the motel room with Kirby.  Baxter was taken to the Western Regional Jail.  His bail was set at $40,000.  He is also facing up to five years in prison.
