AEP truck rolls onto side after hitting power lines

HUNTINGTON, WV -

Traffic was a little backed up in Huntington on Monday morning.  An American Electric Power truck toppled onto its side after hitting utility lines. 

The accident happened on the 900 block of Eighth Avenue around 8 a.m. Officers tell 13 News the driver of the truck said the boom of the truck was left up and caught itself on a utility line on Eighth Avenue.  The line, and the weight of the boom, pulled the truck to its side.

The driver was able to walk away from the accident without injury.  The truck took out a traffic light at Eighth Avenue and 10th Street.
