KANAWHA COUNTY, WV -

A Charleston man has been charged with aggravated DUI after a single vehicle accident Tuesday morning.

The accident happened on the 5200 block of Big Tyler Road in Cross Lanes around 1:30 a.m.

Deputies said Brandon Michael Eads drove off the right shoulder of the road and crashed his Ford Escape into a utility pole.

Eads admitted to drinking prior to the crash and failed standardized field sobriety tests, deputies said.  Eads was too drunk to stand up on his own or balance himself on scene, court documents show.

No one was injured in the accident.  However, AEP had to come out and repair the pole.  Power was temporarily knocked out in the immediate area while crews repaired it.

Eads is in the South Central Regional Jail.
