Blennerhassett offers a different ‘out-to-eat' experience
PARKERSBURG, WV - The second Island Frolic for the season on Blennerhassett Island is set from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. July 27.

"If you are looking for something out of the ordinary to do with your family, try a relaxing evening on Blennerhassett Island Historical State Park," Blennerhassett Supt. Matt Baker said in a release.

The sternwheeler Island Belle departs for the island from Civitan Park, in Belpre, Ohio, at 6:30 p.m. The cost of the Island Frolic is $25 for adult tickets and $20 for children ages 3-12.  The price of the ticket includes the round-trip sternwheeler ride to the island, the meal, a narrated wagon ride tour and a guided tour of the Blennerhassett Mansion.

The picnic-style meal begins around 7 p.m. and includes hamburgers, potato salad, baked beans, fresh fruit cup and beverage. Bicycles will also be available at no charge for visitors to ride. The island gift shop and snack bar will be open throughout the evening.  After an evening of frolicking on the island, the Island Belle returns attendees back to Civitan Park around 9:30 p.m.

Tickets are sold at the Blennerhassett and must be reserved in advance. Call the park office at 304-420-4800 to order tickets.  A golf cart with driver is available on the island to offer assistance. One more Island Frolic is scheduled for Aug. 24.
