The body of a woman was recovered from the Ohio River in Mason County on Wednesday evening.

A resident on the Ohio side of the river noticed the body at about 5:45 p.m., according to Point Pleasant, WV, Fire Chief Jeremy Bryant.

Once crews arrived at the scene, they said they could see the body floating in the river above Gallipolis city park. The woman's body was recovered below the city park just after 7 p.m.
