CHARLESTON, WV -

The West Virginia Republican Party announced July 19 Wheeling-native Matt Dailer will serve as director of field operations for the 2014 midterm elections.

Dailer operated in the western half of the 2nd and 3rd Congressional Districts during the 2012 cycle, making it one of the most successful victory offices in West Virginia, according to the WVGOP. Dailer has spent two legislative sessions working as an analyst for the Republican Senate caucus.

"Matt instinctively developed relationships with key coalition groups in his region and provided leadership in an area of West Virginia which has proven difficult in previous cycles," the news release from the WVGOP reads. "Matt will be able to bring this direct field experience and knowledge statewide to lead comprehensive efforts."

Dailer is a graduate of Wheeling Park High School and received his bachelor's degree in political science from Marshall University. His parents still live in Wheeling where his father, James "Dubie" Dailer serves as athletic director of Bishop Donahue High School.
