A woman is charged with animal cruelty after deputies say they found 13 dogs and puppies not being cared for properly.
Kimberly Blanton is charged with cruelty to animals after deputies with the Johnson County Sheriff's Office say they received a tip saying dogs were locked in a home without food and water, according to a recent news release.
The incident happened Thursday at a home on Route 1559 in Stambaugh. Deputies say four adult dogs were locked in a home without food or water and there was no electricity or running water. Deputies also found two more adult dogs and seven puppies on the front porch of the same home.
The incident remains under investigation and deputies encourage anyone with information about animal cruelty to report it.
