    Alpha Natural Resources announced July 31 that 11 affiliated coal mines and other facilities in West Virginia could be idled by mid-October, potentially causing 1,100 to be laid off.

UPDATE:

The Logan County Detachment of the West Virginia state police need your help finding a missing woman.

Troopers say 41-year old-Glenda Bayes was last seen on July 5 in Logan County with a man named Terry Fike.

Family members say Bayes did not pack a bag and left with the clothes on her back.

She has not contact any of her three children, family said this is very out of character for her.

Bayes has blonde hair and blue eyes and has a rose tattoo on her upper arm and ankle.

If you have any information on the whereabouts of Bayes or Fike, you're asked to contact the West Virginia State Police.

West Virginia State Police need your help finding a missing Logan County woman.

41-Year-old Glenda Bayes has been missing since July 4th.

State troopers said they are getting involved now because they think her disappearance is suspicious.

Troopers said family members originally thought Bayes left with a carnival worker, but after checking with the company, they found out the man no longer works there.

Glenda Bayes worked at the Tudors in Danville.

Troopers said she did not pick up her last check.

Family members also said she didn't take clothes with her and has not called her kids.

If you have any information on Bayes whereabouts tonight, you are asked to call West Virginia State Police.
