HUNTINGTON, WV -

A team of cyclists arrived in Huntington today as their journey across America continues.

The team made a stop at city hall and Huntington High School before relaxing and having dinner in town.

The cyclists are in their 26th Journey of Hope which includes a nine-week, 4,000 mile cycling event across the county to raise funds and awareness for people with disabilities, according to a recent news release.

The Journey of Hope is a program of Push America, the national philanthropy of Pi Kappa Phi Fraternity, and cyclists are members of the fraternity from across the nation.

Jeremy Jackson, a biker from Colorado, says it is all about the experience. "It's just a rewarding experience, you know? You're doing something good so you can feel good about it. It's a lot of fun. You know, you get to see the country on a bicycle."

The team began in Seattle and will end in Washington D.C. on August 10.

The men say the real journey will not be on a bike but rather the time spent with the people whom they are riding for such as those during their Friendship Visit with the Mountain State Center for Independent Living.
