A man has been arrested in connection to a crime spree in the Franklin Furnace area.

James W. Woodel, 22, of Greenup was arrested and charged with four counts of burglary.  According to Scioto County Sheriff Marty V. Donini said his office received a call from a resident of Franklin Furnace that said someone had broken into their home and stolen several items including jewelry, electronics and guns.

According to the sheriff, in at least one of the burglaries a 9-year-old was home alone and talked to the Woodel while he took items from the home.

The Scioto County Sheriff's Office said the Green Township Detective along with the Green Township Community Policing deputy and the Greenup County Sheriff's Office located Woodel coming back from Ohio and conducted an interview that led to Woodel's arrest.

Sheriff Donini says the investigation will result in other suspects and more charges.
