GREENUP COUNTY, KY -

A Greenup County man is facing charges after deputies say he was dealing drugs.

James L. Leadingham, 53, is charged with trafficking in a controlled substance and possession of a handgun by a convicted felon, according to a news release from the Greenup County Sheriff's Department.  Deputies say Leadingham was part of an on-going investigation of a drug trafficking operation from Detroit to Kentucky.

Deputies searched Leadingham's home on Bays Ridge in Greenup just after 1:40 a.m. Monday. Officers found illegal prescription narcotics, 14 grams of marijuana, marijuana plants, suspected stolen property, a hand gun and several thousand dollars in cash.

Deputies say this is an active investigation with several more arrests pending. Anyone with information regarding trafficking narcotics or any types of criminal activity may contact the GCSD anonymously.
