Assault rifle and two other guns recovered from an apartment on Inland Lane

Police there tell us they have recovered the weapon they believe was involved in last night's shots fired incident at the South Moor Hills apartment complex.

South Charleston Police say an assault rifle and two pistols were recovered from an apartment on Inland Lane, that's close to where the shots fired incident took place.

They also tell us two men and one woman, along with a juvenile have been detained.



South Charleston police said they need the public's help to find a man wanted in connection with a shots fired incident Thursday night.

Metro 911 has issued a BOLO, or 'be on the lookout', for a black male with long hair and dreadlocks, who is wearing a short sleeve T-shirt and blue jeans, and possibly a ski-mask.

Police said this is the latest description they have of the man who might have been involved in a robbery at Southmoor Hills Apartments.  The incident locked down the immediate area, which is right next to South Charleston High School.

Police said the shooter robbed a man, who had to be taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

When officers responded to the scene, the shooter opened fire at officers, police said.  No officers were injured.

Law enforcement agencies from across the county came in to assist South Charleston police in the search for the shooter.

He remains on the run at this hour.

Police are calling off the search for a suspect in a robbery in the South Charleston area.

Police say a robbery was reported at Southmoor Hills Apartments.

When police responded to the scene, shots were fired.

One male was transported to the hospital with injuries, but was not shot.

Police chased the suspect into the woods, but lost the trail.

Several units, including a S.W.A.T. team, were involved in the search.

Police say the suspect is believed to be a black male carrying an AK-47.

The area of Chestnut Street in the area of the robbery was shut down for several hours, but has since re-opened.

Anyone with any information is being asked to call 911 or the South Charleston Police Department.
