ASHLAND, Ky. -

UPDATE:

Officers with the Ashland Police Department say the area where a train crashed into a pick-up truck Monday morning is now clear. 

Crews with CSX are making repairs on equipment damaged in the crash that happened on 19th and Front Street. 

Officers say the injuries suffered by those in the pick-up truck are not life threatening and they were taken to St. Mary's Medical Center in Huntington.

ORIGINAL STORY:

 Ashland, KY was the scene of a train and truck accident this morning. 

Dispatchers say they received a call of a train hitting a pick-up truck at 10:30 a.m.  Officers with the Ashland Police Department are handling the investigation into the crash.  Officers say the crash happened at the 19th Street crossing at Front Street. 

Officers say the people in the truck have significant injuries were taken to an area hospital. Officers are asking motorists to avoid the area altogether. 

Crews with the Ashland Fire Department and Boyd County EMS also responded.
