WV Turnpike reopens following tractor-trailer rollover accident

UPDATE:

The West Virginia Turnpike has reopened following a tractor-trailer rollover accident this morning.

There was heavy congestion on the southbound lanes of I-77 near Marmet for a few hours as crews cleaned up the mess.

The driver was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

UPDATE:

The southbound slow lane of I-77 is now open, but traffic is backed up for miles.  The fast lane is still closed.

We've learned the driver of the tractor-trailer is okay.  He has a few cuts but is walking around on scene.

Drivers can expect massive delays on the West Virginia Turnpike following a tractor-trailer rollover accident.  

It happened in the southbound lanes of I-77 just after 8 a.m. near Marmet in Kanawha County.

Authorities said both soundbound lanes are currently closed.  There's debris all over both soundbound lanes.  The truck is also leaking fluids right now.

The southbound lanes will be closed until the mess is cleaned up.  Both northbound lanes are open.

The condition of the driver is unknown at this time.
