HUNTINGTON, WV -

West Virginia State Police are warning residents of purse snatching happening in our area. This time it happened at the Kmart on Route 60 around 7 p.m. tonight. Police say a woman had her purse in a buggy. She got out her keys to open the truck. This is when the suspects found a parking spot close to her. They got out of the vehicle, approached her and then took her purse. They hoped back in the vehicle and took off. Two eye-witnesses took off after the suspects. Police says the 4 suspects were driving a 2001-2004 White Audi A4 that was registered in Ohio. One of the 4 was possibly a female.

Drugs may be the motive for this purse snatching as well as other reported ones in the area. The suspects prey on older or elderly individuals who carry a significant amount of money and who generally will not put up a fight. Anyone with information about this purse snatching or others in the area may call The West Virginia State Police at (304) 746-2100.
