Two men are in the hospital after being exposed to a chemical in Nitro.

According to emergency responders, 75 gallons of nitric acid was exposed at Catalyst Refiners, at 1580 1st Avenue South in Nitro, shortly after 1 p.m. Saturday.

Both men were decontaminated at the scene and both were able to walk to the ambulance, Kanawha County Ambulance, which transported them to the hospital.
