Football scrimmages for more than just the teams

Posted: Updated:

Saturday's football scrimmage is for much more than the players on the field.

Although a 30-year veteran,  Crew Chief Doug Spry, still has plenty to prep for before the season, like rules changes and getting re-tested along with the on the field things.

"The speed of the game changes year to year. "We're still getting a little older, and we're doing 17-18 year old kids, so physically it takes a little bit of preparedness," said SSAC Official Doug Spry.

For Alexa Morton and her teammates, this is important too because of the small amount of time they had to practice while a game is being played.

"We haven't had much at all," said Morton. "This will be the first time for the freshmen and the new girls. So this will get them ready for Thursday night," said George Washington High School Cheerleader Alexa Morton.

Let's head into the concession stands to see how they deal with game day preparations.

Patty Mullins and her staff have an advantage because she is able to maintain most of her employees which makes the regular season easy going.

"The team all knows what to do,  and some of them have been here a lot of years," said concession manager Patty Mullins.
