The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers will host a free open house tour of the Bluestone Dam from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Sept. 5.

In the tour, people can see dam safety construction activities and learn about the day-to-day operations of the Bluestone Dam, according to a news release from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.

People also will get the chance to see the water safety robot "Corey."

The public will access the top of Bluestone Dam from the Route 20 overlook parking area and walk across the dam. The guided tour of the interior of the dam begins at 1 p.m. and lasts about an hour, the news release states.

No bags or purses can be brought inside the dam and people are not allowed to take photos or video inside the dam.
