UPDATE:

The victim in an early morning shooting has been identified as 24-year-old Ladaraean Duran Mixon of Detroit. He originally gave police an alias of Omarion Cooper. Police said he had several aliases.  It took police more than eight hours to positively identify him because of this.

Mixon showed to CAMC with a gunshot wound to the groin early Wednesday morning.  Police later determined he accidentally shot himself.

Mixon also had heroin on him at the time of the shooting, they said. He has been extradited back to Detroit on unrelated charges.

The two men who dropped him off at the hospital are also facing drug charges.

UPDATE:

Charleston police have identified the victim in an early morning shooting.  Police said Omarion Cooper, 24, of Detroit, was shot in the groin and dumped outside of Charleston Area Medical Center around 4 a.m.

No arrests have been made yet.

UPDATE:

Two men have been arrested and charged following a shooting incident in Charleston, WV.  Their charges are unrelated to the shooting itself, according to police.

Kalvon Casdorph and Lajuan Flood are facing drug charges after police found prescription pills on them.  They said the men dropped off another man at CAMC who had been shot.  They ditched the white Tahoe they were riding in and ran away.

Police found Casdorph and Flood a short time later.  They said both men aren't cooperating with the investigation.  They won't say who the shooting victim is, where he was shot, or who shot him.

The victim in an early morning shooting is in surgery right now.

Charleston police tell 13 News they are working to identify the man.

The victim was dumped in front of CAMC just after 4 a.m.  There were conflicting reports on how many times the victim had been shot, but police believe it was one time.

Police are working to get a search warrant on a white Tahoe that was recovered near the hospital.  Police believe the two men riding in it dumped the victim in front of the hospital.

Police are trying to figure out where the man was shot and why.

The two men are being interviewed at CPD, but have not been labeled suspects.  Police said the men have underlying drug charges, too.

An early morning shooting in Charleston injures one man, while two others are under arrest.

Charleston police tell 13 News the two men drove a white Chevrolet Tahoe to Charleston Area Medical Center, where they proceeded to abandon the victim at the emergency room entrance.

The victim had been reportedly shot multiple times. However, Metro 911 had not received any emergency calls reporting shots fired in Kanawha County.

The Tahoe was recovered a short time later and the two men are in custody being questioned by officers at this time.

Doctors at CAMC are currently evaluating the victim.
