UPDATE:

13 News has uncovered shocking new pictures in a child abuse case involving a Boone County mother and her four children.

Family members of Tabitha Harper said they are relieved the kids were removed from a dangerous situation. They said they never had enough evidence to prove what was happening, until recently.  The Boone County Sheriff's Department arrested Harper for abusing her kids at her Coal River apartment in Bloomingrose on Wednesday.

Harper has four children between the ages of 3 and 9. Deputies got a phone call from CPS that her children were covered with bruises, scratches, and bite marks.  One of the most shocking pieces of evidence involved pictures of Harper's 7-year-old girl. The girl has bite marks and bruises on her arm. Deputies said the child told them her mother bit her.

Relatives said the oldest child told a guidance counselor at school what was happening.  The children said Harper chocked, bit, and put pillows over their faces. They said the school contacted CPS.

The allegations have infuriated Harper's family members.

"If you don't want your kids, give them away to somebody who will love them and care about them and would love to have them. She didn't take care of them anyways," one relative said.

Deputies said the physical marks on all of Harper's children were enough to arrest her. They said she also did drugs and used needles in front of her kids.  Her family is worried about the toll the abuse has already taken on her children.

"They're sweet. They're innocent. They got problems, but who wouldn't have problems living with her? They've got anger issues because she cusses them," one person said.

The children are staying with their grandmother on their father's side. She is trying to get full custody of the children.

Harper is in jail with bail set at $20,000.

A mother has been arrested on child abuse charges. The Boone county Sheriff's Office arrested Tabitha Harper, 28, of Bloomingrose.

Deputies said they received a complaint from Child Protective Services in reference to Harper's four children, nine years old and under. The children were found with bruises, scratches and one had at least one bite mark. All the injuries were allegedly caused by Harper, according to a news release from the Boone County Sheriff's Department.

When deputies arrived at the residence in Toney's Branch, Harper ran out the back door into a wooded area, but was taken into custody a short distance later.

Harper is charged with felony child abuse.
