CHARLESTON, WV -

The public will get the chance to boost a local business as part of a crowdfunding event later this month.

The West Virginia economic development organization Vision Shared, Inc. is hosting the statewide "Enterpreneurs' Café All-Stars" event at 5:30 p.m. Sept. 12 at the offices of Charles Ryan and Associates in Charleston.

The scheduled participants are the "best of the best" from regional West Virginia Café Program communities throughout the state, and each has already competed in and won its local, community-based competition.

The concept of crowdfunding comes into play with the proceeds of the event's ticket sales being presented to the winning entrepreneur.

The Vision Shared Entrepreneurs' Café Program provides a venue for entrepreneurs to present their ideas and their funding needs in the hopes of netting community support. Organizers host events locally to help award funding to entrepreneurs with the ideas that best fit their community's needs.

The Sept. 12 event will feature representatives from Wheeling, Huntington, Fayetteville, Shepherdstown, Charleston, Williamson and Clarksburg.

"As Vision Shared continues to focus significant efforts on further developing entrepreneurial concepts, establishing café programs moved quickly to the top of our priority list," Vision Shared President Rebecca McPhail Randolph said in a news release. "These events give entrepreneurs the opportunity to secure funding, provide a valuable network for these business owners and help educate communities on the importance of supporting and investing in small business growth and development."

Tickets to the event are available to the public. The evening will include a networking reception, dinner, the presentations from the "All-Stars," along with a vote for the winning presentation. Visit visionshared.com/allstar for details.
