INSTITUTE, WV -

For the second time in less than a month, an incident has been reported at a Kanawha County, WV plant.

The Catalyst Refiners plant is located in Institute and after the second incident last night new concerns are being brought up by county officials and people who live in the area.

Officials have been told the chemicals involved Tuesday were hydrogen peroxide and nitric acid.

Close to 1,000 pounds of nitric acid was released, according to the company.

There are concerns right now, because Metro 911 officials said Catalyst Refiners failed to notify emergency officials about Tuesday's incident for about two hours after it happened.  Kanawha County emergency officials also said the company failed to notify the public about the situation, saying only that there is no harm to the community.

Kanawha County Commission President Kent Carper said, "The failure of this particular operator to timely advise emergency officials not to the mention the public at large, is unacceptable."

Last month, two men were treated after 75 pounds of nitric acid spilled at the same plant.
