SOUTH CHARLESTON, West Virginia -

The South Charleston Black Eagles made history Friday night by playing their first ever home game at their school. They didn't disappoint either. The Black Eagles defeated St. Albans 75-16.

Prior to the game, fans at the stadium talked about the importance of the night.

"I think it's awesome," said senior cheerleader Audriana Potter.

"I mean it's our senior year and as an athlete it's awesome to come and go out with a big bang," said senior volleyball player Kaylee Stanley.

The night was also special for those South Charleston alums that didn't get to play on this field.

One of those graduates was Carl Terrell, a '94 graduate, who played at Dunbar Field during his career.

"It's real nice out here. I think the kids are going to enjoy themselves and have fun," said Terrell.

And that's exactly what the student section was doing.

"It gets our stands extremely pumped. This is our home. This is our field," said Stanley.

Friday night will be a night that will be talked about for many years to come.

"I'm probably going to remember this for the rest of my life," said Stanley.

"I probably won't have a voice tomorrow," said Potter.
