CHARLESTON, WV -

One man is in jail after a domestic violence incident involving his wife and their one-year old child in Charleston, WV.

According to a release from the Kanawha County Magistrate Court, Terry Lee Fields Jr., 27, was arrested and has been charged with brandishing a dangerous weapon, domestic violence assault and domestic violence battery.

The release says that police were called to a disturbance involving a firearm in the 1000 block of Kanawha State Forest Drive in Charleston, near Berry Hills Road around 12:50 p.m. Thursday.

According to the release, dispatchers told police Fields was driving in a blue Dodge Durango with his wife, Katie Fields, and one-year old child, heading towards Kanawha State Forest Drive.

Two witnesses say that Fields was outside of the vehicle, yelling at his wife, and was pointing a handgun at her, while she was holding their one-year old child, ordering her to let him inside the vehicle.

The release says she let Fields inside the vehicle, in which Fields forced her into the passenger seat by pushing her, while continuing to point a handgun at her, and drove off.

Police found Fields and his family at their residence at 97 Lakeview Drive in Charleston, where he was arrested.

Fields is being held in the South Central Regional Jail on a $25,000 bond.
